Waste Characterization of a food court in Montreal

For this waste characterization, Stratzer’s team sorted and classified garbage, recyclables, and organics collected from the Place Ville-Marie food court over the course of a day. In addition, the collection records were used to determine thequantities disposed of and recovered at Place Ville-Marie in 2019. The results led to recommendations including the use of clear bags to encourage source separation, improved organics collection, and the promotion of reusable dishes.
