Inventory of global initiatives to reduce plastic

In order to enrich its reflection on how to reduce plastic, the City of Montreal has mandated Stratzer to carry out a portrait of worldwide initiatives to reduce single-use plastics. Extensive research was undertaken, including initiatives in Europe, the United States, India, Costa Rica and elsewhere in Canada. The study also identified local initiatives in the City’s various boroughs. In light of the case studies, Stratzer was able to define the applicability of the proposed measures to the Montreal context, as well as to raise the issues, challenges and success factors of those initiatives.
