Stratzer launches a mutual for the collection of organics from IC&I

Stratzer created the VERTUO mutual to offer an organics collection service for industries, commerces and institutions (IC&I) not covered by a municipal or private collection.

The mutual, based on the cooperative model, allows IC&I members to obtain a customized organics collection service at an affordable cost. Collectors can also join VERTUO to offer their services.

VERTUO also offers a coaching service to help IC&Is move towards best practices in organic waste management, especially those IC&Is considering the implementation of such a collection. Membership in VERTUO also ensures that ICIs comply with the requirements of Québec’s Organics Recovery Strategy, in particular the mandatory implementation an organics management solution. Another advantage: the growth of the membership allows Stratzer to optimize the collection routes. In addition, Stratzer ensures the traceability of organics so that they are sent to an authorized processing site (anaerobic digestion or composting).
