Transfer Station (Eco-Center) Planning : Essential Features to Consider

Sandra Messih, Head of Division at Stratzer, published an article in the June 2020 issue of Contact Plus, the magazine of Québec’s Association of Municipal Engineers (AIMQ, in French).

In this article (in French), Sandra presents the main features to consider when planning a new eco-center or optimizing an existing one. A complete diagnosis must be carried out before starting the work in order to properly identify the existing needs and constraints as well as the best options for development and operations. It should be noted that, because of the particularities of each eco-center, there is no single solution: personalized analyses are necessary. Finally, compliance with existing laws and regulations is paramount.
