Currently, nearly a third of all waste disposed of in Quebec are construction and demolition (C&D) residues, and the situation is hardly more encouraging in the rest of Canada. Having the firm intention of being part of the solution, Stratzer is launching a new range of services specifically designed for the construction industry. Stratzer aims to bring structure to this stream by creating solutions at every stage of a project, from design to construction, renovation and deconstruction.
Offering training and support to construction professionals regarding eco-responsible building design, will enable them to make better choices upstream to reduce waste generation. This includes choosing sustainable and recyclable materials, defining needs and uses, and restoration and reuse components. In addition, Stratzer proposes to design Construction Waste Management Plans (CWMP) ensuring that C&D waste is properly sorted and recycled, with minimal impact on operations. Finally, traceability services for C&D waste (TRAC3R) and contaminated soils (by Argus Environnement) will enable stakeholders to certify their waste recovery initiatives.
