STRATZER / Design and Planning / Expansion of a hospital
Waste management planning for the expansion of Pierre-Le Gardeur Hospital
The expansion project of the Pierre-Le Gardeur Hospital in Terrebonne consists mainly in the construction of an eight-storey tower. This will add 246 beds to the 379 already available. During the design work, the architects enquired about the spaces to be reserved for waste management in the expanded site. Therefore, Stratzer estimated the quantities and volumes of waste while planning for the required infrastructures and spaces. Stratzer also established a diagnosis of the current equipment (i.e. containers, compactors, autoclave) and drafted a waste management plan in accordance with the LEED standard.
