STRATZER / Characterization / McGill University Health Centre
Waste characterization of a hospital
In view of its LEED-EB certification request, the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) mandated Stratzer to conduct a waste characterization study. The planning of this large-scale project required an excellent coordination with the existing cleaning team while minimizing the impacts on the MUHC’s daily operations. A team of eight technicians worked day and night for seven days to sort the waste and keep track of the origin of each waste cart. The methodology developed and the analysis report complied with LEED Canada standards for Existing Buildings certification.
