Waste management of a food court
Cadillac Fairview wanted to redevelop the space left vacant by the departure of Sears in Pointe-Claire. For the layout of the planned food court, Cadillac Fairview called upon Stratzer to design an optimized waste management system. The prospective waste deposit was evaluated, and different scenarios were proposed, including the use of the Solucycle organics management system. This system works through grinding and channelling of the organics to a tank from where they are pumped out at collection time. Comparative analyses were performed based on capital and operating costs and the impact on overall performance was evaluated.
