Study on the Potential market and end-of-life management of roofing materials
In order to target the next products to be covered by an extended producer responsibility (EPR) program, Stratzer has conducted, for RECYC-QUÉBEC, a study which provides a portrait of the potential market for roofing materials. To this end, Stratzer identified the stakeholders, the types and quantities of products generated as well as the end-of-life management methods. The study put into perspective the issues specific to each material, such as asphalt shingles, elastomeric membranes and gravel. Stratzer also identified the challenges associated with the recovery and reclamation of roofing materials along with the application of EPR to this waste stream.
