Stratzer is proud to be associated with the RCM of La Rivière-du-Nord for its project concerning improvement of the eco-center network. The GMF provided $9.1 million in funding for this project.
Stratzer has been working closely with the RCM on the optimization of its network of eco-centers since 2016. Watching this project come through is a great pride for our team. The RCM was already a pioneer in the field of recycling, but it has confirmed this by moving forward with this bold and promising project. The GMF funding adds the final touch.
Currently, the RCM manages four eco-centers that recover 900 tons of waste per year; only materials that can be resold are accepted. The funding will allow the RCM to build new infrastructures, including a reuse store and a new energy-efficient eco-center in Saint-Jérôme. Funding will also support the optimization as of the Saint-Hippolyte eco-center that will accept construction and demolition (C&D) waste and non-reusable materials from now on. In addition, the network will have a reception capacity for industries, commerces and institutions (IC&I) as well as small entrepreneurs. It is estimated that the new infrastructures will allow for a tenfold increase in the total amount of materials recovered through reuse and recycling, reaching up to 9,000 tons per year.
