21,000 kg of Products from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport Donated to Women in Need

Despite a pandemic year that heavily tipped travel, the partnership between Stratzer, Aéroports de Montréal and Le Chaînon diverted almost 21,000 kg of product from landfill in 2020.

Since March 2019, more than 40,100 kg of products thrown away or seized at Pierre-Elliott Trudeau International Airport, including clothing, winter boots and coats, hygiene products and quality food products, have been redistributed as donations to Le Chaînon. This organization helps women in difficulty in the Montreal area by redistributing a portion of the products collected and by selling the rest in their boutique to raise funds.

This project has allowed more than 150 women sheltered at Le Chaînon to have access to quality hygiene products as well as luxury food such as maple products. In addition to the donations to the women sheltered, the products recovered in perfect condition are sold at the organization’s store, which ensures a part of its funding. These products are offered at 50% of the original price, thus helping low-income people to have access to essential goods.

Since 2019, Stratzer, in collaboration with Aéroport de Montréal, has redistributed more than 40,100 kg of goods from Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau International Airport to the not-for-profit Le Chaînon.

Promote the circular economy by diverting from landfill all products with value by redistributing to help women in need.
