Optimization of the City of Sherbrooke’s Transfer Station Network

Stratzer was mandated by the City of Sherbrooke to help optimize its network of transfer stations (eco-centers). The project’s goals were to improve the performance of the existing facilities, validate the level of service to the populationwhile ensuring regulatory compliance. After an exhaustive analysis of the current situation as well as a visit of the city’s transfer stations, Stratzer was able to define different optimization scenarios, either through the addition of transfer stations or of drop-off points. Facility designs and financial estimates of operating and capital costs were also produced.
